Most oropharyngeal tumors have occult metastases rates exceeding 20%, and elective treatment of the neck is generally recommended. Treatment options may be surgery or radiotherapy. Options for treatment of advanced oropharyngeal carsinomas include chemoradiotherapy or transoral surgery with neck disection and adjuvant oncological treatment.
