%0 Journal Article %T The Refugee Crisis In Turkey After The First Gulf War %A Hakan ARIDEM£¿R %J - %D 2018 %X Turkey has faced several refugee crises due to the crises in neighboring countries arisen in different periods. One of the most important refugee crises had taken place by Kurds, who benefitted from the power vacuum in Northern Iraq with the end of the Gulf War I rebelled against Saddam Hussein. Up to 500.000 Kurdish refugees arrived at the Turkish border after the Baghdad government suppressed the rebellion harshly. At first, Turkey hesitated to open the border. However, it opened the border to Kurdish refugee stop recent damages to more people.
