%0 Journal Article %T The Place of Women's Labor Force Participation in Turkey and International Employment Efforts %A Ceren Ece G£¿CEN %J - %D 2018 %X One of the indicators of the level of development, which has an important place in globalizing world, is the employment of existing labour force. In Turkey and many other countries women and men are recognized as equal in law. Even women are employed in the labor force and in their business life, they are faced with obstacles such as sexist discrimination. In Turkey, the main factor in the emergence of such obstacles, the patriarchal social order and traditional gender roles. These obstacles can be classified as economic, social, demographic and political factors. Especially in recent years, policies have been accelerated to lift gender equality and improve their position in the society by removing the obstacles to women's participation in the workforce. These policies and studies are usually effected by international structures. It is striving to fulfill its responsibility on Turkey.
