%T FERIDUN NAFIZ UZLUK¡¯S CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF SELJUK

%X The Seljuk historiography in Turkey can be divided into various phases. In the beginning phase, important steps have been taken in the name of the shaping of Seljuk historiography with the works of writers such as M. Fuad K£¿pr¨¹l¨¹ and M. Halil Yinan£¿, who were among the historians of the beginning phase. However; a noteworthy development is that, an independent Seljuk historiography had not been founded in that phase. In this study, different factors which had influenced the independent studies related to the Seljuk historiography were emphasized. Especially the Anatolianism (Anadoluculuk) movement¡¯s influence on the Seljuk historiography were tried to explain. The works and translations of F. Nafiz Uzluk; who was a part of this movement and a Doctor of Medicine, were reviewed and these works¡¯ contributions to the Seljuk history, culture and civilization were evaluated. Also, the influence of the F. Nafiz Uzluk¡¯s researches on the Seljuk historiography were utilized
