%0 Journal Article %T Investigation of Reasonsfor The Preference of Health Management Department Students %A Mehmet Yorulmaz %J - %D 2019 %X The aim of this study is to analyze the reasons to prefer this department of the students who prefer the Department of Health Management, the reasons choosing this department, their wishes to continue with the department and their attitude towards the change of a department. Method: In this study, a questionnaire comprising 10 questions which progressed by the researcher with the participation of 1st and 2nd-year undergraduate students of Sel£¿uk University Department of Health Managementwas used. We got thenecessary official permits for the study. We have analyzed the data with Microsoft Excel 2007 program. Results: Some parts of the participants were Anatolian high school graduates. The majority of the participants are that they do not consider among the professions in which want to choose the health management department; that the main reason for the majority of the students to prefer the health management department is that the £¿SYM scores are sufficient for this department that the majority of the students prefer the health management department in the rank of four or higher in the £¿SYM preference lists; it has seen that approximately 1/3 of the students have enough information before making their choice. A significant part of the participants expects mixed training which supported by practicing theoretical training from the health management department. Almost half of the participants expect a mixed-education in which a good education and theoretical training in health management supported by practice studies. Nearly half of the students want to be a successful student in their own fields in the health management department. 26.3% of them aim to be a leader in their fields and after graduation, they aim to take part in the management jobs in the public sector. Most of the students do not think to change departments or universities. Results: Expectations of the participantsfrom the department of health management are high.
