%0 Journal Article %T Evaluation of Student Trend in Medical Schools in Turkey and S¨¹leyman Demirel University Medical School %A £¿brahim Tamam %J - %D 2018 %X Introduction: The number of physicians is the basic parameters of health care. For this reason, the education process in medical schools is planned in relation to the number of students. In this planning process, national and local physician education policies need to be organized in the educational facilities of the faculties at various periods. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the change of the number of medical faculties in Turkey with the numbers of students in these faculties and in S¨¹leyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine (SDUTF). Material and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, the literature has been used for the collection of data. The data of the study were evaluated with the SPSS Statistics 17.0 program and the Spearman correlation test was used for the analysis of the data under nonparametric conditions. Results: In this study, a positive significant correlation at a very high level was found between the time elapsed on a yearly basis between 2006-2016, the number of medical faculties that received students by £¿SYM from 2006 to 2016, number of students taken to medical faculties throughout Turkey from 2006 to 2016 and the numbers of students taken to SDUTF from 2006 to 2016. Conclusion: It can be considered that a rapid increase in the number of physicians in Turkey is aimed at by increasing the number of medical faculties and increasing the number of students taken to these medical faculties. In the direction of the findings obtained in this study, it is possible to say that the rapid increase progress in the number of students taken to the medical faculties throughout the country is reflected in to SDUTF. We think that considering the trend of change in the number of students reflected in the country as well as SD¨¹TF in planning related to medical education has a strategic role in terms of educational plans %K T£¿p %K Okul %K £¿£¿renci %U http://dergipark.org.tr/sdutfd/issue/35686/335002
