%0 Journal Article %T Research and Development (R&D) Status of Food Industry in Turkey and Suggestions for Improvement %A G¨¹rb¨¹z G¨¹ne£¿ %J - %D 2018 %X Research and development (R&D) activities are important for food industry especially in today¡¯s globalized market. In this study, it was aimed to determine the current situation of R&D activities in the Turkish food industry and to determine the actions to be taken at the situations of stakeholders for the development of R&D activities. A questionnaire study with 127 participants in the Turkish food industry was conducted and the data were evaluated using Microsoft Excel and SPSS analysis programs. According to the results, 35% of the companies in the Turkish food industry are conducting R&D activities. Companies that carry out R&D activities benefit from various R&D supports, and those who also use their own resources are more successful in terms of commercialization of the R&D outputs. Difficulties and problems on R&D supports at various stages such as application, evaluation, and execution phases were outlined in this study. These problems can be solved by the measures and actions taken by companies and supporting institutions, and R&D activities in food industry can be improved by both qualitative and quantitative ways %K AR-GE %K G£¿da sanayi %K AR-GE destekleri %U http://dergipark.org.tr/akademik-gida/issue/38683/449862
