%0 Journal Article %T Selection of Local Winter Pear Genotypes Grown in Malatya %A Yusuf BAYINDIR %J - %D 2019 %X In this study, conducted between 2014 and 2017 to select local winter pear genotypes grown in the Malatya province, Turkey, firstly fertile trees with high quality fruits, showing a good growth, were marked with pre-selection. Then, fruit samples were taken during the harvesting period for pomological analysis from the trees selected. The data obtained by pomological analysis were evaluated using the modified Weighed Rating Method. At the end of the evaluation, seven genotypes (44.06.02, 44.06.08, 44.11.03, 44.11.21, 44.11.14, 44.11.13, 44.13.06) were identified as promising. The fruit weight of the promising genotypes was between 128.17 (44.11.13) and 209.73 g (44.11.14), the fruit flesh firmness was 4.90 (44.13.06) - 9.92 kg/cm2 (44.06.08) and the total soluble solids ratios were between 12.85% (44.06.08) and 19.40% (44.11.13). In terms of grittiness, four (44.06.08, 44.13.06, 44.11.03, 44.06.02) of the promising genotypes were not gritty, whereas three (44.11.14, 44.11.21, 44.11.13) had medium grittiness. In terms of eating quality, one genotype (44.11.03) was medium and six genotypes (44.06.08, 44.13.06, 44.06.02, 44.11.14, 44.11.21, 44.11.13) were good quality. The promising genotypes identified at the end of the study were transferred to a pear collection parcel of the Apricot Research Institute Directorate in order to keep under protection and to use as material in the second phase of the study %K Armut %K £¿slah %K seleksiyon %K yerel £¿e£¿it %U http://dergipark.org.tr/turkjans/issue/44787/556612
