%0 Journal Article %T Examination of the Relationship Between Life Satisfaction and Death Anxiety Among University Students %A Arif ARSLAN %J - %D 2019 %X The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between life satisfaction and death anxiety among university students. Also, this study examines the effects of gender, loss of a loved one and threat of death on death anxiety. The study group consists of 348 university students (261 females and 87 males) who were selected by convenience sampling method. The data were collected by using the Death Anxiety Scale, the Life Satisfaction Scale, and Demographic Form. The analyses of the data revealed a negative correlation between life satisfaction and death anxiety. It was found that life satisfaction predicts approximately 3% of the total variance of death anxiety. Moreover, female students had higher levels of death anxiety than males. It was also found that death anxiety of the individuals who had lost their loved ones did not differ from that of those who had not, and that death anxiety of the individuals who had had close calls with death did not differ from that of those who had not %K £¿l¨¹m Kayg£¿s£¿ %K Ya£¿am Doyumu %K ¨¹niversite £¿£¿rencileri %U http://dergipark.org.tr/etad/issue/46499/493112
