%0 Journal Article %T Perception of Corruption in EU Member States Transition Countries %A Berna H£¿zarc£¿ Be£¿er %J - %D 2018 %X Corruption is the leading cause of problems that countries have to deal with, which is defined as abuse of power for private gain. From the beginning of the 1990s, it seems that the studies on the economic dimension of corruption have increased. This study will examine the changes in the perceptions of corruption during the transition period of the EU, Poland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia. It examines how the corruption index scores change in the transition countries of EU member states, which form competitive policies for liberalization in the market system. This is the result of a lower perception of corruption in transition countries where democratization is high.
