%X Shamil's regiments played a primary role in the activation of the national independence movement of the Western Circassians during the period of the Caucasian-Russian War. Shamil, who established a military-theocratic state (imamate), continued to expand the northern Caucasian independence movement, and tried to spread the regents there in Circassia. The first attempt was made by Hac£¿ Muhammed and S¨¹leyman Efendi in 1842-1846. The main reason for the failure of the attempts of the Shari'ah to spread by Naips was that it meant the disruption of the deep-seated traditions of Circassians
