%0 Journal Article %T How Mode Of Life Is Projected In Tv Series In Turkey: Case Of Bizimkiler %A U£¿ur Balo£¿lu %J - %D 2019 %X Mode of social life in Turkey has changed since 1980 due to political, economic and demographic factors. Neoliberal policies which have been implemented parallel to the globalization discourses around the world have affected the life of society in many ways. The demographic difference between the village and city that has significantly increased, necessitated the reorganizing of society with a tension between the traditional and modern. One of the dominant tools of this reorganizing is the media. Media is a medi£¿m that make it easier for individuals to adapt to society£¿s new mode of life. In the study, the reflections of social life changes in Turkey on TV shows between 1990s and 2000s examines the period when the private TV broadcasting appeared and the TV series named Bizimkiler was analyzed by semiotic analysis based on qualitative interpretation in the context of basic life style indicators.
