%0 Journal Article %T Doctor Lutfi and Hi£¿s Books-I ¡°National and Economic Politic¡± %A G£¿ktu£¿ £¿pek %J - %D 2019 %X After completing his education in Mu£¿lkiye, Lu£¿tfi Bey held various positions in I£¿stanbul, Bursa, and Konya. Later, he was educated in various fields in France and had a doctorate in law. While he was continuing his education, he became the Consul General of Paris in 1905. In these years, he took part of the Young Turks, ended the rule of Abdu£¿lhamid II and worked for the proclamation of the constitutional monarchy. After the proclamation of the Second Constitutional Era, he was nominated in the 1908 elections in Izmir but could not be elected. He took part in the France-Turkey Friendship Society¡¯s which was established in the pre-World War I Paris Branch. After the armistice, he came to Istanbul and published a newspaper for a short time. The latest information about him comes from the end of the 1920s. He emerges as an important person who lived both in the Ottoman and Republican periods. He witnessed many important events during this period and took part in some of them. In addition, he wrote many books. In this study, Lu£¿tfi Bey¡¯s book which is entitled ¡°National and Economic Politics¡± was translated. Thus, it is aimed to provide a better understanding of the subjects and the period it deals with through this book. As a matter of fact, we aim to continue our contribution with the translations of other books in the future. In addition, to fill the gaps in his life, some of the archive documents, research books-articles and memories related to him are gathered in this study.
