Controlled pre-test and post-test experimental design used in this study was completed five weeks and a total of 47 1st grade primary school students was participated. 22 participants were in the experiment group and exposed to activity-based mathematics teaching, while the rest 25 students took place in the control group and exposed to traditional teaching approach. In the study Bracken Basic Concept Scale was used as a pre-test and post-test so as to evaluate mathematical concept knowledge of students. The data were analyzed by the use of ANCOVA. The findings revealed that the averages in the mathematical concept learning levels of the students in the experiment group were pretty higher than the ones in the control group. The results of covariance analysis revealed that this difference was in favor of the experimental group %K Matematiksel kavramlar %K etkinlik temelli £¿£¿retim %K ilkokul birinci s£¿n£¿f %K Bracken Temel Kavramlar Testi %U http://dergipark.org.tr/tujped/issue/46628/579459
