%0 Journal Article %T THE MIRAJIYAH OF EDIRNE GOVERNOR AHMED IZZET PASHA %A Ali Y£¿R¨¹R %J - %D 2018 %X After the Turks became Muslims, they have addressed Prophet Muhammad in various ways and mentioned about him in different literary genres. In this context, mirajwhich is the miracle of Prophet Muhammad who went from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa and ascended up to the empyrean from there at twenty seventh night of the month of Rajab one /one and a half year before hejira has been included in ottoman poetries and masnavis. Again, many poetic and prosaic individual works have been written on this miraj event. The work, which is the subject of the present study, is the mirajiyah written in the style of ode verse by Edirne governor Ahmed Izzet Pasha. The mirajiyah is composed of 21 couplets and involved in poet¡¯s Divan£¿e. In this study, the Ascension miracle, mirajiyah genre in Classical Turkish literature and the life of Edirne governor Ahmed Izzet Pasha were emphasized, the transcription of thismirajiyahwork and its expression in today¡¯s Turkish were given; and the work was investigated in terms of form, content, language, and style %K Mira£¿ %K Mi¡¯raciye %K Edirne %K Ahmed £¿zzet Pa£¿a %K Hz.
