%0 Journal Article %T Turkey¡¯s Security Policy in the Framework of Baghdad Pact %A Merve Solak %J - %D 2019 %X The purpose of this study is to analyze the Middle East Policy of Democrat Part during the 1950-1960 within the frame of security. While doing this, the Baghdad Pact was discussed as the main axis. Although Baghdad Pact was started with big expectations from Turkey, it couldn¡¯t reach its aims. Besides that, the Baghdad Pact was a cooperation text which caused different security problems. It eventually ended up in the dusty pages of history. The reason that Baghdad Pact backfired; Turkey, the United Kingdom, Iran and Pakistan, all members of the Baghdad Pact, had different security objectives. Therefore, both member and non-member states have been dispersed in completely different directions within a short time.
