%0 Journal Article %T Educational Institutions of Ay£¿ntab Township (1839-1876) %A £¿zlem Muraz Budak %J - %D 2018 %X Ayintab, which has hosted a lot of civilizations since the early ages, has become struggle arena of various states during this historical process and fell under Ottoman domination in 1516. It was turned into a township connected to Aleppo Province. Ayintab has continued this statue throughout 19th century. In this century, the situation which the Ottoman state is within brought it with the obligation to comply with contemporary developments. In this sense, the effort of modernization?renovation?, which showed itself in every field of the Tanzimat period when westernization accelerated, was also put into practice in the field of education. In addition to the Ottoman classical education system, a new educational system of the western model was moved to. These developments, which took place in the field of education, were also put into practice in the provinces in parallel with the center. On the one hand classical educational institutions such as madrasahs and infants¡¯ schools contined, new and modern schools began to be opened in Ayintab township on the other hand. At the same time, schools were opened by minorities and foreign states. Tanzimat period is a period of reforms when new regulations were made in all areas in Ottoman State. The success criterion of the reform decisions taken at the desk in the center is directly proportionate to the applicability of these decisions in the provinces, as well.
