%0 Journal Article %T BIOMECHANICAL CHANGES SEEN IN DIABETIC NEUROPATHY %J - %D 2018 %X Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is an important and long-term complication of diabetes. Prolonged exposure to high blood glucose levels in diabetic subjects, causes damage to the peripheral nerves. Due to nerve damage in diabetic neuropathy decreased foot sensation and muscle weakness occurs and as a result; gait and balance are affected. Abnormalities in gait and balance increases risk of fall incidence.
