%0 Journal Article %T Relationship Between Mobile Phone Usage and Identity Development in University Students %A G£¿k£¿en AKY¨¹REK %J - %D 2019 %X Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between mobile phone use and identity development in university students. Material and Methods: 135 volunteers who participated in the study (average age 20.9 ¡À 2.67, 60.3% female) were included in the study. The Dimensions of Identity Development Scale (DIDS) and Problematic Mobile Phone Use Scale (PU) were used in the study. Results: There were a relationship between the score of the Social Relationship subscale of the PU and commitment making, identification with commitment and ruminative exploration subscales of The DIDS (p<0.05). There were a relationship between the exploration in depth subscale of The DIDS and the total score and dependency subscale of the PU (p<0.05). Conclusion: According to findings, the ability of commitment making is seen to be better in the social relations of the students studying University education.
