%0 Journal Article %T Ki£¿£¿ Piltan (Pilten) Bey Mosque %A Celalettin Uzun %A Ya£¿ar U£¿urlu %J - %D 2019 %X Ki£¿£¿ Piltan (Pilten) Bey mosque that is located in the Kigi County of Bingol today was built by Pilten Bey in the Akkoyunlu Period. The building, which was named after its builder, is also known as Balaban Mosque. The mosque, which served the people of the city during the Ottoman Period, is the biggest sanctuary located in the centre of the county. For this reason, it is also called as Cami-i Keb£¿r, i.e. the Grand Mosque in archives. In the present study, information is provided about the functioning of this ancient building during the Ottoman Period. In this context, the repairs it has undergone throughout the history due to natural disasters and its architectural characteristics are also mentioned. In addition, information is also provided about the wages of the staff who were appointed for various duties in this mosque, and the income that was allocated to its waqf. In this way, the historical process of Piltan Bey Mosque and its waqf in the Ottoman Period was investigated in all aspects, and the role of it in social life was dealt with. The sanctuary, which still maintains its existence and serves the people in the area, was supposed to be restored in 2017 in line with its original building.
