%0 Journal Article %T The Effect of Public Education Expenditures in Turkey on Labor Force Participation According to the Gender %A Nural YILDIZ %J - %D 2019 %X That the heightness of labor force participation rate showing that how much of the civilian population wants to work give acceleration to the growth of the economy by increasing its production power. The labor force participation rate in Turkey as of March 2017 is 32.9% for women and 71.9% for men. Turkey ranks 125th among 138 countries in terms of labor force participation rate of women. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the effect of public education expenditures on the participation of women and men to the labor force in Turkey. For this purpose, the relationship between public education expenditures in Turkey and the participation of women and men to the labor force was investigated via the VAR model using monthly data for the period 2006-2016 in this study.
