%0 Journal Article %T Sharings Between Parents of Preschool Age Children: In The Context of Preschool Attendance %A Halil £¿brahim Korkmaz %J - %D 2019 %X The aim of this study was to investigate sharings between parents of children who are in preschool educational settings or not, in the context of preschool attendance. 16 parents whose children are not in a preschool educational setting, participated this study. Their children were between 39 and 63-month-old. Snowball Sampling Method was used to select the participants. References given by previous parents were decisive. Participants were interviewed by using a semi-structured interview form on preschool attendance which was developed by researcher. Only written records were taken in the process of interview. Summative Content Analysis was used to analyse the data. Three different researchers analysed the data to obtain inter-rater reliability. Coefficient of inter-rater reliability was found to be as .78. Participants responds were devided into different categories for each item. As a result, it was found that, parents whose children are in a preschool educational setting or not, are sharing something about preschool education. As another results of this study, parents are discussing about various themes on preschool education; parents have some fears and hesitations about the idea of their children¡¯s attending a preschool educational setting; parents whose children are in a preschool setting give some advices to parents whose children are not in; sharings between parents have various potential effects on the idea of children¡¯s attending a preschool educational setting; parents believe that, some positive outcomes will be arised, if their children attend a preschool educational setting.
