%0 Journal Article %T Level of 8th Grade Students' Ability to Relating Science Course with Daily Life %A Erdal CANPOLAT %J - %D 2019 %X The level of the ability of 8th grade students of secondary school to associate science course with their daily lives has been tried to be determined with this research. The sample of the study consisted of 62 (41 male and 21 female) students studying in the 8th grade of £¿ehit £¿nder Pinar Secondary School. Singular screening model was used in the study. The Test of Associating Concepts with Daily Life (TACDL), which consists of 10 open-ended questions involving the relation science subjects to daily life, was applied to the students. The data in the study were analyzed with evaluation criteria including "complete understanding", "partial understanding", "partial understanding with a specific concept misconception", "specific misconception" and "not understood" categories. The data has been analyzed with the IBM SPSS-17 Statistics program. The research questions were analyzed separately, frequency (f), percentage (%) values of the categories and independent sample t-test datas were given in Table 2 and Table 3. Quotations from the answers of the students have been directly delivered.
