%0 Journal Article %T Fasl and Wasl in Rhetoric %A Fatih Ulug£żl %J - %D 2019 %X It is of the utmost importance that the elements that make up the sentence are chosen correctly and used correctly to express the implied meaning correctly and to protect a word against negative situations such as misunderstanding and be not understood. According to this importance, one of the issues that everyone who speak or write should emphasize is in which conditions the elements that make up the word are connected together (wasl) and in which cases it will be mentioned independently (fasl). Because every wrong made about making a fasl or wasl among elements that made word derives meaning from the implied meaning and causes misunderstanding of word of interlocutor. For this reason, it has been emphasized on the subject since the period of pre-Islamic age of ignorance; and later great efforts have been shown about the determination of the fasl and the wasl to be done by the MeĦŻan£ż savants. When the studies carried out in this area are examined carefully, it will be seen that the existence or absence of citation logic among the elements of kalam is the most important element in the determination of these places. There has been some controversy around the subject. But most important dispute is determination of the limits of the subject. This conflict is directly reflected in the definitions made for the subject. In this study, it deliberates the possibility of including other atf letters without subject is applied to sentences and the possibility to be extended to the singulars is reduced to atf made by letter Vav.
