%0 Journal Article %T Relationship between Internet Addiction and Religiousness in Young People %A Necmi Karsl£¿ %J - %D 2019 %X The Internet addiction problem, which is a result of the widespread use of the Internet, causes psychological and physiological disturbances, behavioral problems and tragic events. Internet has become a part of daily life, making it difficult to treat internet addiction and alternative approaches are needed. In this study, the relationship between internet addiction and religiosity in young individuals is investigated. The sample of the study consists of 509 young people, 358 of whom are women and 151 men, aged between 18-37. Internet Addiction Scale, Internal Religious Motivation Scale and Religious Consciousness Scale were used as data collection tools. In the research, demographic characteristics of the sample including age, gender, socio-economic status, smoking and personality structure were examined in terms of internet addiction and religiosity, and then the relations between religiosity and internet addiction were examined.
