%0 Journal Article %T Supporting Physical Evercise In Psychiatric Patients: Pender¡¯s Health Promotion Model %A Aydan AKKURT YAL£¿INTš¹RK %J - %D 2018 %X Exercise is defined as planned and repeater movement which is structured to protect, improve and enhance physical health. £¿f physical execrices are used for right purpose, it would be ideal application for pepole who have a psychiatric illness. Exercise is used as effective method in the treatment of many psychiatric illness such as major depression, anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and substance dependence. Exercise is also protective for populations at risk for psychiatric illnesses. Physical exercise practice for psychiatric patients is run mostly by clinical nurses in many psychiatric clinics without a planned program. It is difficult to assess the effectiveness of these exercises. The effectiveness of programs which were planned and run by professionals was shown to contribue to patient benefit in various studies. Therefore, it is very important to support physical exercise by preparing a systematic and planned program for all psychiatric patients.
