%0 Journal Article %T The Trust Institution in Turkish-Islamic Civilization: Bayburt Example %A Abdurrahman Okuyan %J - %D 2018 %X The endowments play a leading role in the social and cultural life of Muslim societies. In the context of building societies, the endowments shed light on the depths of history. One of the main sources of the religion, the Qur'an and Prophet (pbuh) who was the living interpretation of it encouraged trust institution. It is obvious that we belong to a civilization that dictates the principle ¡°the giving hand that is better than the hand that receives¡±. In many respects, at a time when humanitarian values are being deteriorated, Muslim societies that have acted in line with the principle ¡®¡®He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while the neighbour to his side goes hungry.¡¯¡¯, have managed to keep these humanitarian values alive through endowments. In this study, firstly the concept of endowment was tried to be explained, and then the trust institution was discussed with examples in the historical process. After that, the Ferruh£¿ad Bey Endowment, the Bayburt Muslim Language Association and a follow-up fraternity of the aforesaid association which was founded in 2013 specific to Bayburt were handled.
