%X The purpose of this research is to examine whether the learning environment created by multimedia design has an influence on the fourth-grade students¡¯ academic success, motivation, and the retention of the learned information. In this study, pre-test post-test experimental design with control group was used. The research was conducted on a total of thirty-five students in the fourth grade at a primary school in the central district of Bitlis. At the beginning of the study, ¡°Motivation Scale" developed by Balantekin and Oksal, and ¡°Academic Success Scale¡± developed by the researcher were applied to both groups (to the experimental and control group) as pre-tests. The same scales were used as post-tests in both groups at the end of the four-week experiment period. The SPSS program was used to analyze the data. In the analysis of the sub-problems, percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean and standard deviation were calculated, and two-factor ANOVA (repeated measures) was used for repeated measures on a single factor. The results of the study showed that the students¡¯ academic success, motivation and retention scores differed significantly in favor of the experimental group
