It includes various skills such as accepting new information, being open to learning, flexible thinking, finding different solutions to problems, correcting mistakes, and changing learning methods. They directly contribute to changing the way of thinking and ways of thinking. Mental flexibility is not an innate skill. It is learned and developed as a result of intensive efforts of the individual. Mental flexibility skills have a special importance in reading and learning, and help in the process of obtaining, using and producing new information. In addition, the student's personality development and to establish healthy relationships with the community brings. Mental flexibility skills are developed at a young age through games, educational activities and reading. Reading is a direct contribution to the development of mental flexibility. It includes the ability of the reader to change reading method and thinking patterns according to reading purpose, text level and content. It ensures fast, effective and efficient reading. It affects students' academic success. As the reading skill develops, the skill level of mental flexibility also increases.
