%0 Journal Article %T Examination of Cyber Bullying and Victimization Among Adolescents %A Ezgi TA£¿TEK£¿N %A P£¿nar BAYHAN %J - %D 2018 %X Cyber bullying has emerged as a new form of bullying occurs in the online communication spaces through the use of digital technologies and internet. Adolescents highly use the digital technologies and internet. In this study, it is aimed to examine the relations of some variables with cyber bullying and cyber victimization among adolescents and define the experiences of adolescents about cyber bullying. Sample of the study consists 895 adolescents aged 14-17 (450 female, 445 male) who are chosen by the method of simple random. General Information Form -which is designed for determining the demographic information, internet usage characteristics and experiences about cyber bullying-and The Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory were used as data collection tools. The research findings show that cyber bullying and victimization differs based on gender, socioeconomic status, and internet usage characteristics. Cyber bullying also differs based on age. It is revealed that adolescents usually share their experiences about cyber bullying with friends, experience cyber bullying in the extrascholastic environments, respond to the cyber bullying by ignoring or doing the same and feel upset when they are cyber bullied.
