%X It all started with the curiosity of mankind. How do things occur in nature, in our biological environment and in our bodies? The humanity has been working since the day it was existed in order to understand the phenomena in nature and in its own body with the scientific methods it developed by investigating the cause-effect relationship with curiosity. In this process; Some of the studies aimed at the physiology of the human body, the pathology of the diseases and their treatment were carried out in the form of observational studies on humans and the other part was conducted as experimental study. In experimental studies, experimental animals were the most important alternative to human subjects. Human-animal relations and the concept of ethics have gained importance in researches. This article providing information about the history and the recent regulation of experimental animals in the world and in Turkey legislation aimed to evaluate issues in general
