One of the methods that countries use to increase their prosperity is to carry out commercial activities with other countries. The most important problem of foreign trade transactions is the collection of goods value. The aim of this study is to determine the preferred payment methods of foreign trade companies; to determine the problems encountered due to payment methods in the Eastern Black Sea Region. In this context, a survey was conducted with 104 companies operating in the region. The answers to the questionnaire consisting of 15 questions were tabulated and graphed with the help of SPSS.23 statistical program. According to the results of the survey; cash payment method (29,81%), the payment method against goods (16,35%) and the bank payment obligation method (5,77%) are preferred respectively in the export transactions. The cash payment method (27,88%), the documentary collection (7,69%) and the payment method against goods (2,88%), are preferred respectively in the import transactions.
