In recent years, research on plant heavy metal tolerance genes has become a hot topic in the field of genetics and biotechnology. This article reviews the latest developments in the localization of cadmium tolerance genes, molecular mechanisms of cadmium tolerance genes, and related expression regulation networks. These studies reveal important regulatory mechanisms and gene expression changes in plants in response to heavy metal cadmium stress. With the help of these research results, the development of new heavy metal tolerant varieties will receive more effective support.
