With the continuous development of social economy and modern medicine, the average lifespan in China has been gradually increasing. According to the classification criteria for population aging of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), China has now entered an era of population aging. The issue of elderly care has become an increasingly prominent social problem. Cultural elderly care is a way that embodies traditional culture and contemporary humanistic care, how to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly while ensuring their material needs is an urgent problem to be solved. The “Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Strengthening Aging Work in the New Era” clearly proposes the expansion of the supply of educational resources for the elderly and supports the establishment of universities (schools) for the elderly by social forces. The high-quality development of universities for the elderly has become an inevitable trend. However, these universities for the elderly currently face several problems, such as imperfect management policies, insufficient funding, weak infrastructure, and a shortage of qualified teachers. In this regard, this paper focuses on these issues and proposes optimization paths, hoping to contribute to the advancement of cultural elderly care. %K 文化养老,老年大学,发展问题,对策
