Hadot believed that Plato associated three figures with Socrates in the Symposium: Silenus, Eros and Dionysus. With the help of these images, Hadot further discusses Socrates’ philosophy from the perspective of spiritual exercise, which is especially reflected in Socrates’ irony, which can be di-vided into dialectical irony and Erotic irony. Dialectical irony makes the interlocutor aware of his own problems and the limits of language. This forces the interlocutor to move towards Erotic irony, where people enter into life and seek answers to Socrates’ questions in existence. Through this in-terpretation, Addo gives a new perspective on understanding ancient philosophy. %K 阿多,苏格拉底,形象,精神修炼
