¡ªTaking the Report of the Twentieth Congress as an Example

The translation of the 20th Report, as a key link in conveying China¡¯s political philosophy and development blueprint, has received extensive attention both at home and abroad, and its English translation is of great significance to the shaping of China¡¯s image and the enhancement of international consensus. This paper intends to start from the Skopos theory, follow the principles of purpose, coherence and loyalty, and use the Twentieth Congress Report as the original corpus to analyse and study indepth the characteristic political vocabulary in the government¡¯s work report, and to explore its suitable translation strategies, such as literal translation and free translation, with a view to more accurately comprehending and translating the political text, comprehensively presenting China¡¯s development plan, and presenting the image of a big country with objectivity and truthfulness. %K Government Work Report %K The Skopos Theory %K Translation Strategy %K Literal Translation %K Free Translation %U http://www.oalib.com/paper/6828891
