Sox9 plays an important role in gonadal differentiation and testis development in vertebrates. In order to explore the molecular characteristics and expression pattern of sox9a in Hippocampus erectus, RACE was used to obtain its full length cDNA of 1979 bp, including 339 bp 5’UTR, 1488 bp ORF and 152 bp 3’UTR, encoding a total of 496 amino acids. Multiple amino acid comparisons showed that the Hippocampus erectus sox9 had a highly conserved HMG-box domain. Phylogenetic tree analysis showed that it was most closely related to Hippocampus zosterae sox9a. RT-qPCR showed that sox9a was ubiquitously expressed in the main tissues of Hippocampus erectus adults, and showed a significant male preference in the gonads and was highly expressed in the testis, suggesting that sox9a might be involved in the differentiation and maintenance of Hippocampus erectus testis. This study laid a foundation for further research on the role of Hippocampus erectus sox9a in sexual development. %K 线纹海马,Sox9a,性别决定,性别分化
