%X an account of the species of trees and shrubs of the family burseraceae in the state of aguascalientes, m¨¦xico is presented. it includes a key for the identification of species, descriptions, data concerning common names, elevation, abundance and local distribution, as well as distribution maps and illustrations. six species of bursera were found: b. bipinnata, b. fagaroides, b. multijuga, b. palmeri, b. penicillata and b. roseana. most of them are located in the municipality of calvillo in dry tropical forest and subtropical scrub at altitudes between 1650-2500 m. bursera fagaroides is the most widely distributed and abundant species in the state.
