%X borgesian characters are constructed by an agglutination of several intertexts. in beatriz viterbo¡¯s case, several canonic figures come together: beatrice portinari and brynhild in first place, and secondarily, helen of troy. besides intertextuality tools, some categories of roland barthes¡¯ are used to analyse and interpret this feminine character.
