%X this article focuses on sermons preached in new spain, now m¨¦xico, during the first half of the eighteenth century. after establishing the basic characteristics of sacred oratory and after describing the production of a sermon as a process, this article discusses a recurrent topic in preaching, typically present in the preliminary pages of the printed versions (licenses, approvals): metaphor of the sermon as good law currency.
