%X in the central highlands of mexico, above 2 200 m in altitude, corn is an important crop sown in 1.5 million ha. h-52 is a new corn hybrid released by the national research institute for forestry, agriculture and livestock (inifap) for rainfall and rainfall plus supplemental irrigation in the state of mexico. h-52 is a three-way hybrid that includes germplasm from landraces collected at several states in central mexico. experimental yield obtained in the region with h-52 varied from 9.0 to 12.0 t ha-1 when planted in april. in addition h 52 is resistant to ear-rot elicited by fusarium.
