%0 Journal Article %T Negro Grijalva, nuevo cultivar de frijol para el tr¨®pico h¨˛medo de M¨¦xico %A Villar S¨˘nchez %A Bernardo %A L¨®pez Salinas %A Ernesto %A Tosquy Valle %A Oscar Hugo %J Agricultura t¨¦cnica en M¨¦xico %D 2009 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X in the tropical areas of southeastern mexico the small-opaque black bean class is the most demanded by growers and consumers. in 2003 the line dor 445 was released as a new cultivar named 'negro grijalva'. this cultivar is of early maturity, resistant to bgymv and adapted to acid soils. from 1997-2000 negro grijalva was compared to cv. negro inifap across fifteen year-site combinations in the state of chiapas under residual moisture conditions; the yield of negro grijalva was 1 219 kg ha-1, 35.9% higher than that of negro inifap. in a soil of ph 4.3 in central chiapas, the yield of negro grijalva was similar to negro inifap and with the addition of lime at a rate of 1.5 t ha-1, its yield increased by 20.8% vs 6.0% in negro inifap. therefore, negro grijalva can be used in acid soils with or without the addition of lime by low income farmers. negro grijalva has a seed weight of 23 g per 100 seeds. %U http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0568-25172009000300013&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
