%0 Journal Article %T Efecto de la inoculaci¨®n de Azotobacter chroococcum y Glomus intraradices en el crecimiento y nutrici¨®n de pl¨¢ntulas de papaya en fase de vivero %A Constantino %A Maricela %A G¨®mez %A Regino %A ¨¢lvarez %A Jos¨¦ David %A Pat %A Juan Manuel %A Esp¨ªn %A Elda Guadalupe %J Agronom¨ªa Costarricense %D 2011 %I Universidad de Costa Rica %X the effect of time of inoculation (at sowing or after seedling emergence) and the number of applications using 2 biofertilizer (azotobacter chroococum and glomus intraradices) were tested on growth, biomass and nutrition of papaya, at the nursery phase. the effect of organic matter and its interaction with the biofertilizers also was evaluated. two experiments were realized; in the first one 2 inoculations were applied, on seeds and afterwards on seedlings, 30 days post emergency. in the second experiment a single inoculation was applied on seedlings, 30 days post emergence. these experiments were performed using a 5x4 factorial design (5 substrates x 4 biofertilizer types). all treatments were applied as single or combined inoculants (a. chroococcum and g. intraradices) for a total of 20 treatments, in a completely randomized design. the double inoculation (seed and seedling) promoted higher growth and biomass of the crop than single inoculation (only seedlings), when organic matter was added at an intermediate dose (25 or 35%) and g. intraradices was applied as a single inoculant. however, the single or double inoculation did not modify the nutrient content in papaya seedlings. %K biofertilizer %K rhizobacteria %K seed inoculation %K organic matter. %U http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0377-94242011000100002&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
