%0 Journal Article %T Estimativa de danos de granizo no limbo foliar do morangueiro sob prote£¿£¿o do agrot¨ºxtil %A Fernandes Otto %A Rosana %A Ohse %A Silvana %A Corso %A F¨¢bio %J Idesia (Arica) %D 2012 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %R 10.4067/S0718-34292012000200005 %X for horticultural production, plant protection by nonwoven material may be an alternative for protection against the damage caused by hailstones. an experiment was conducted in ponta grossa - pr to evaluate the damage level caused by hailstones to strawberry plants growing under nonwoven fabric (pp) and in natural conditions (an). the experimental design was in randomized blocks, with the treatments arranged in a split plot with four repetitions. the major factor was the cultivation system (pp x an) and the secondary factor was the strawberry cultivars ventana, cami£¿o real and camarosa. nonwoven fabric was installed over the plants immediately after transplant and was maintained during the entire growth cycle. the damage caused by hailstones on the leaves was evaluated using measurements transformed according to the equation of townsend-heeuberger. the interaction between the cultivation system and the strawberry cultivars was not significant, as there were no differences among the cultivars evaluated for hailstone damage. however, the plants protected by nonwoven fabric (pp) presented damage in13.7% of the leaf area against 88.1% damage in cultivated plants in an. nonwoven fabric produced a high rate of protection against the damages of hailstones on leaves, which should be used as a plant protection when weather forecasts alert about the risk of hail. %K fragaria x ananassa duch %K damage level %K protected cultivation %K polypropylene. %U http://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0718-34292012000200005&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
