%X the complexity ofthe pythian iv lies in the peculiarity of its frame in which pin-darmanipulates the poetic material by going backwards and forwards, and thenarrative, almost homeric, of the argonauts epic. the proposal is bothcompositive and articulatory in a genre of conventional and fixed elements. inthe poem, pindar poses the possibility of constructing two formal spaces: anepic-.lyric vision and the fact reality of a celebration, both enhancing thevictory ode.we propose to analyze the frame of the pythian iv from the point of viewof a prophetic vision, which sustains a historical function of myth so that theframe results in a kind of compact epinikion, especially in its finalsection.
