%0 Journal Article %T SUPERVIVENCIA DE PACIENTES CON C¨¢NCER COLORECTAL EN EL MUNICIPIO DE PASTO, PER¨ªODO 2004-2008 %A Jurado Fajardo %A Daniel Marcelo %A Bravo Goyes %A Luisa Mercedes %A Prieto S¨¢nchez %A Rodrigo %J Universidad y Salud %D 2011 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X colorectal cancer (crc) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality from cancer worldwide. most studies on the survival of crc patients comes from developed countries because and very few populations in developing have an appropriate monitoring systems, making it impossible to know the magnitude and impact of the problem. this work focused on determining the survival of the population of the municipality of pasto diagnosed with crc during 2004-2008 to establish the population at risk over which should be directed prevention programs to reduce crc mortality and increase survival of the population. in the results, the relative survival at 5 years was low (56%) and very similar to that reported in other populations before implementation of preventive programs and early diagnosis. moreover, the increasing age, the decreasing of the degree of tumor differentiation and tumors of rectum and anus decreased the chances of survival. %K colorectal cancer %K survival %K early diagnosis %K prevention. %U http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0124-71072011000200003&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
