%X this paper presents a hypothesis about the formation of modern art in colombia. taking into account the concepts of £¿event£¿ and £¿artworld£¿, it proposes to account for the formation of modern art as an effect of sense in the interrelationships between the level of the socio-historical transformations and the level of the uniqueness of a remarkable artistic production in the art history of the country.
