%X the text analyzes and discusses m¨¢rio de andrade's critical contribution to the relation between music, culture and literature, particularly poetry. andrade's intellectual production is characterized by a constant search for an understanding of the meaning of art, culture and brazil, through the creation of what might be called a polyphonic view. his studies and essays on music, together with his keen interest in anthropology and ethnography, left deep marks in his fiction, as a reading of a chapter from macuna¨ªma shows clearly.
