%X this essay seeks to characterize the relationship between several factors involved in the settlement of a greek sanctuary in a specific natural environment. the paper will focus on three main aspects of the sanctuary: the genius loci, the historical and mythical precedents, and the intentional contrast among the architectural and the natural forms.
