%X the first reliable record of the dog (canis familiaris) recovered in a hunter gatherer site from the lower paran¨¢ wetlands (argentina) is analyzed in this paper. we discuss several aspects related to the origin, chronology and types of interactions established between dogs and aboriginal groups in the context of scarce information currently available about their presence among hunter gatherer groups of southern south america.
